What this means
Almonds are not directly toxic to dogs, but dogs cannot properly digest them. They pose a serious choking hazard, can obstruct the esophagus, and are high in fat (pancreatitis risk). Salted almonds add the risk of sodium toxicity. Flavored almonds often contain xylitol or other toxins.
