Plain white or wheat bread is not toxic to dogs. However, it is empty calories with no nutritional benefit and can contribute to obesity. Bread containing raisins, nuts, garlic, onions, or artificial sweeteners is toxic. Never feed raw dough — the yeast causes ethanol production and gas expansion.
