What this means
Black walnuts are toxic to dogs and cause tremors and seizures. Regular walnuts are not directly toxic but are large, high in fat, and often develop mold (particularly Aspergillus) which produces aflatoxins — highly toxic compounds. The high fat content also triggers pancreatitis. Avoid all walnuts.
Symptoms to watch for
Note for medium dogs (20–60 lbs)
Avoid completely — mold risk and high fat make them unsafe.
