Terms of Service

The Service provides general information about whether foods and ingredients are considered safe for dogs. It is not a substitute for professional veterinary care. Individual dogs differ in size, age, health status, allergies, and tolerance. Always consult a qualified veterinarian regarding your dog’s diet and health.

You are solely responsible for decisions you make about your dog based on information from the Service. Do not delay or avoid seeking veterinary care because of something you read here.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 to create a paid account. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

Quick food searches are free. Ingredient analysis has a free anonymous limit, after which we ask for your email. You are responsible for keeping your email and any account credentials accurate and secure.

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annual as selected at checkout) and renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel any time by emailing support@isthissafeformydog.com. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access through the end of the current period.

Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion. We may change pricing with at least 30 days’ notice; changes apply at your next renewal.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to provide medical advice to others as if it were your own expertise.
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute the database or AI outputs in bulk.
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, paywalls, or authentication.
• Submit content that is illegal, abusive, or that infringes third-party rights.
• Interfere with the Service, probe for vulnerabilities, or attack our infrastructure.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations without notice.

The Service, including its design, database, text, and logos, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. All other rights are reserved.

Ingredients, queries, and other text you submit remain yours. You grant us a license to process that content as needed to deliver the Service (including sending it to our AI provider for analysis) and to maintain aggregated, anonymized statistics.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that safety information is complete, accurate, or current for every dog or situation.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) US$50 OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases these limits apply to the maximum extent permitted.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms or if continuing to operate becomes impractical. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer law applies.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
